FAQs

The Incontinence Underwear Kit includes 1 pair of luxurious underwear featuring our unique pad-pocket design and your choice of 20 or 40 pad inserts.
The intended use for our incontinence underwear kits is based on a 1-month supply, but exactly how long it will last is somewhat up to you and your incontinence needs.

The underwear alone is washable and reusable. It will last as long as your typical pair of underwear.

The underwear + 1 All Day Pad absorbs 2+ cups (over 16oz!). That is comparable to 1 adult diaper or 1 medical grade incontinence pad.

The underwear + 1 Light Pad absorbs 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup). This is a superior option for those currently using non-incontinence products (ex: period underwear, period pads, or panty liners) as bandaid solutions for their incontinence needs. Additionally, the absorbency is comparable to 1 pair of absorbent underwear designed for urine leaks. Unlike the absorbent underwear, when you reach max capacity with our light pad, you only need to swap the pad and can continue wearing the underwear.

Our pads are extremely slim. The Light pad, which absorbs 4 tablespoons of urine, is 2.5mm thin. The All Day pad, which absorbs over 2 cups, is 5mm thin. In other words, our All Day Pads achieve 8x the absorbency of our Light pads but are only 2x as thick!

Our pads are simultaneously extremely slim and extremely absorbent due to their advanced dual-action core. This core features 1) super-absorbent polymer (SAP) that holds 1,000x its weight in liquid, 2) fluff pulp that rapidly wicks moisture away from the surface.

Yes, although the pads are primarily designed for incontinence (aka urine), not periods (aka blood).

While period pads and incontinence pads may look similar, they are designed for different uses and have different features to address the differences in type of fluid, the absorption rate, the odor control, and skin health.

Incontinence pads can be used for periods, although they may need to be swapped out more frequently.

Period pads should NOT be used for incontinence. Period pads are not designed to handle an unexpected "gush" of urine, and that can lead to leaks. Moreover, period pads aren't designed to wick moisture away as quickly as incontinence pads, which means that if you use period pads for incontinence, you may increase the likelihood of skin irritation and rashes. Finally, period pads are not designed to target the odor of urine.

Every body is different, so everyone may have different needs. In most cases, you should change an incontinence pad a few times a day, or immediately after it reaches full capacity due to a “big gush.” Light pads can absorb a max of 4 tablespoons (¼ cup) of urine before needing to be changed while All Day pads can absorb just over 2 cups.

Most people's bladders hold about 1 - 1.5 cups of liquid before they feel a strong urge to go. If you are experiencing a "full void” (a complete emptying of the bladder), our All Day pad is designed to handle one major event or several small leaks before needing to be changed.

Regardless, we recommend swapping pads throughout the day, even if they haven’t reached full saturation, to prevent against:

1) Skin irritations: Urine is acidic. This acidity causes the absorbent polymers in our pads to become less effective at wicking away moisture once they become partially saturated.

2) Odors: Our pads use super absorbent polymers to trap liquid and neutralize smells, but after a few hours, bacteria begins to break down the urine, which inevitably causes odors.

No incontinence product is 100% smell proof, but ours are highly “smell-resistant”. By using a combination of SAP, Fluff Pulp and Organic Cotton, we are able to prevent smells due to:

1) Super Absorbent Polymers: they don’t just soak up 1,000x times their weight in liquid, they also turn the urine into a localized gel that locks the smell inside and prevents it from evaporating into the air.

2) Fluff pulp: This helps to spread the liquid across the pad so the SAP doesn't get "gel-blocked" in one spot. By spreading the liquid out, it allows the SAP to work more efficiently at trapping odors.

3) Organic Cotton: The most breathable option! The cotton reduces the “greenhouse effect” (aka heat and moisture) that bacteria loves, and since it stays drier and cooler against your skin, you are less likely to develop skin-based odors caused by sweat and irritation.

We recommend changing pads every few hours, or after a "full void” (a complete emptying of the bladder) to keep your incontinence underwear kit fresh.

The underwear is crafted from a premium Italian-milled blend of 74% microfibre PA and 26% EA (LYCRA®). With a weight of just 80 grams/m2, it ensures maximum comfort, perfect breathability, and shape retention. And it is designed to look and feel like your favorite everyday pair.
Zmanti’s gusset features our unique pad pocket crafted from high-performance, USA-made fabric. This proprietary blend of wicking polyester, nylon, and lycra spandex is engineered for maximum comfort and durability.

The pad pocket also features a special one way wicking component that is engineered from premium hydrophobic and hydrophilic fibers. The hydrophobic yarns push the liquid away from the skin and the hydrophilic ones pull the liquid to the outside of the product. This enables one-way wicking that rapidly transports leaks and moisture from the body to the fabric's outer layer.

And, since this fabric touches your most sensitive parts, we’ve ensured that it’s 100% toxin free! That means no PFOS, PFOA, lead, dioxins, heavy metals or BPA; Free from phthalates: contains no DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP and DnOP. It is also CPSIA certified, hypoallergenic and eco-friendly.

Our pads are engineered for maximum performance, skin health, and comfort using a sophisticated multi-layer system:

Top layer: A 100% organic cotton topsheet. This provides a naturally soft, hypoallergenic surface that is gentle on sensitive skin.

Absorbent Core: A high-performance blend of Super Absorbent Polymers (SAP) and 100% natural wood pulp. The pulp is composed entirely of cellulose—a plant-based fiber that acts as a natural sponge to wick moisture away instantly.

Back Layer: A breathable PE (polyethylene) backsheet. This specialized waterproof barrier prevents leaks while allowing air to circulate, keeping the skin cool and dry.

This combination works for three main reasons:

Dryness: The SAP and cellulose core lock liquid into a gel, so the surface stays dry even under pressure.

Skin Integrity: The organic cotton and breathable backsheet work together to reduce humidity and heat, which are the primary causes of skin breakdown and discomfort.

Purity: By using 100% cellulose and organic cotton, we ensure the materials touching your body are as natural as possible without sacrificing professional-grade protection.

Yes! With our breathable underwear fabric, one way wicking pad pocket fabric, and pads topped with 100% organic cotton, our incontinence underwear kits are an excellent choice for sensitive skin. All of these components enable superior breathability in our underwear kits, keeping you fresh, dry and irritation free all day.
Our underwear is designed to feel like a "second skin," offering incredible stretch without the squeeze. Because the fabric contains a high percentage of LYCRA® (26%), it possesses superior elasticity. This allows the garment to expand and "caress" your natural contours easily, but more importantly, it provides shape retention. This means it won't bag out or lose its fit over time.

How it feels:

Stretchy: The high Lycra content allows it to follow your body’s movements effortlessly.

Not Tight: Despite the stretch, the fabric is ultra-lightweight (only 80g/m²). It’s designed to be delicate and breathable, providing a supportive fit that feels weightless rather than restrictive.

Putting it together: Expect a sleek, form-fitting feel that moves with you, providing a smooth silhouette under clothing without the "pinching" sensation of traditional tight elastics.

Yes. Machine washable and machine dry-able. We spent years finding the perfect latex-free and rubber-free elastic to ensure our underwear could go in the dryer. Just be sure to wash it with like colors in cold water and dry it on low heat.
